Places of Sustainable Faith consists of a network of retreat centers and communal homes whose mission is to provide leaders with a setting in which they can be renewed, reoriented and relaunched. These places provide opportunities for nourishing food, rest and sleep, silence and solitude, prayer and reflection, spiritual direction and conversations of consequence.
Thin places are those spots where heaven and earth seem to meet. Retreat spaces are like that for many people — sacred spots for rest, silence, solitude, prayer, reflection, reorientation, slow food and spiritual conversation.
Over the past several years The Convent in Norwood OH has received about 700 guests annually who have come for rest and reorientation. While we're currently in a season of lying fallow for 2014, the pause has helped us re-imagine a whole network of homes and retreat centers that nourish the contemplative life. We'll keep you posted about the re-opening of The Convent.
